DESCRIPTION:Whose Revolution\n\n\n\n\nJoin Curator talks at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm on March 28 \nTo commemorate the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolution\, the Concord Museum is proud to share the new special exhibition\, Whose Revolution. \nOpening March 28\, Whose Revolution offers a fresh\, inclusive perspective on this pivotal moment in American history\, centering the experiences of women\, Indigenous communities\, and free and enslaved Black people who grappled with the meaning of revolution in their own lives. Through a rich array of objects\, from paintings\, prints\, and political cartoons to historic clothing\, textiles\, furniture\, and ceramics\, as well as film and multimedia installations\, Whose Revolution provides a vivid and tangible sense of what it was like to live through this dramatic period of mounting tension and crisis and the significance of this history today.      \nFeatured objects include a lavish British Spitalfields silk gown and other historic textiles illuminating the experiences of women and children\, a media installation exploring the lives of free and enslaved Black people in Concord\, a new commissioned wampum choker by Elizabeth James-Perry (Aquinnah Wampanoag)\, and a film with Elizabeth Solomon (Massachusett) reflecting on the meaning of the American Revolution within Indigenous communities in Massachusetts. DESCRIPTION:Silhouette Portrait Making\n\n\n\n\n\nSilhouette artist Lauren Muney cuts classic Colonial silhouettes for sitters. All of her stunning portraits are cut freehand with scissors and will be cherished by your family for years to come. Appointments are required. Book your appointment time with the link below. \n\n\n\n$40 Member | $50 Non-Member \n\n\n\n\nRegister\n\n\n\n\nFrequently Asked Questions\n\n\n\nWhat do I get from my appointment with Lauren? \n\n\n\nYou will receive one silhouette per person\, per appointment time. Each silhouette will be mounted on a background\, given an insert with a short description of silhouettes\, and seal into a poly-bag. \n\n\n\nHow does the appointment window work? \n\n\n\nReserve a 15-mimute window here during which you will have a 5-minute seating to have your portrait hand-cut by Lauren. Please arrive early and wait for your appointment window.  \n\n\n\nHow many people can have their portrait cut per appointment window? \n\n\n\nOne! There is one appointment per-person. If you are booking for multiple people\, please reserve multiple appointments. \n\n\n\nCan I have a group silhouette? \n\n\n\nLauren cuts the historical type of silhouette – only one silhouette per background. There are no group-silhouettes\, as they are not historical. \n\n\n\nCan I have a portrait of my baby made? \n\n\n\nYes! Lauren can portrait babies. She has special baby techniques that are not the same as small children or adults. \n\n\n\nCan I have a portrait done based on a photo? \n\n\n\nYes\, you can bring in a photo (it can be on your phone) of someone in profile (from the side) with their face facing towards the right. Lauren will cut the portrait based on the photo. However\, someone must be present at your appointment with the photo. Please do not send photos to the Concord Museum or Lauren to have the portrait cut and picked up later. We are not able to accommodate that. \n\n\n\nCan I have my pet’s portrait made? \n\n\n\nYes\, by photo. Please do not bring your pet to the Concord Museum!
