June 22, 2024 at 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
National Book Award–winning author Tiya Miles, joins 2024 Pulitzer Prize winner Jacqueline Jones for a revelatory conversation on the myth and the truth behind Harriet Tubman, one of the most famous Americans ever born who few really understand. A figure more out of myth than history, Harriet Tubman becomes an even clearer and sharper signal from the past, thanks to Tiya Miles’s characteristic tenderness and imaginative genius.
Tiya Miles is the Michael Garvey Professor of History and Radcliffe Alumnae Professor at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. She is a public historian, academic historian, and creative writer whose work explores the intersections of African American, Native American and women’s histories.
