The Concord Museum welcomes all adult, university, middle and high school, tourist, community, and personal groups and invites you to request a guided visit led by trained Museum staff. Please note that advance reservations are required for all groups.

Guided Tours
Guided tours are available for groups of 8 or more. They must be booked 3-4 weeks in advance. A non-refundable deposit is due two weeks prior to your tour date to guarantee your tour time. For youth groups (aged 6-17), the Museum requires a 10:1 student to adult chaperone ratio. Any required chaperones will receive complimentary admission.
We offer four guided tours.
Highlights Tour: 1 hour
The American Revolution, Concord’s famous authors, and the special exhibition.
American Revolution Tour: 1 hour
All galleries with a focus on the American Revolution.
Authors’ Tour: 1 hour
All galleries with a focus on Thoreau and Emerson.
Special Exhibition Tour: 30 minutes
A guided talk in our Special Exhibition gallery. All guests are welcome to visit the galleries on their own afterwards.

Concord Walking Tours
Walking Tours are a perfect way to explore Concord and are offered April through November. Please book 3 to 4 weeks in advance. A non-refundable deposit is due two weeks prior to your tour date to guarantee your tour time.

At the Center of Revolution Walking Tour
1-1.5 miles, mostly flat terrain, rain or shine
Walk from the center of town to the North Bridge and learn about the events of April 19th, 1775 and the first battle of the American Revolution.
Emerson’s Circle Walking Tour:
1 mile, mostly flat sidewalk and pavement, rain or shine
In the 1800s, Concord was the center for American authors and thinkers, including Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, and Louisa May Alcott. Led by a Museum educator, explore 1800s Concord and discover the impact of the anti-slavery movement, the Civil War, and the lives and homes of the famous authors who lived here.

There is a bus loop in front of the Museum and a free parking lot adjacent to the building.
The Museum is fully accessible with ramps and an elevator. A wheelchair and gallery stools are available upon request.

Do Group Tours need to be booked in advance?
Guided and walking tours need to be booked at least 3 to 4 weeks in advance. Self guided tours can be booked 3 days in advance.

How many people can go on a Group Tour?
Fifteen people can go on a guided tour and we can run 3 or 4 tours at the same time depending on the group.

What are the tour options for large groups?
We can divide large groups into smaller groups that can tour the Museum simultaneously or in multiple time slots. Please email [email protected] to discuss the details of your visit.

Can we book a tour outside the Museum’s normal hours?
Yes, we can book tours outside our normal business hours for an additional fee.

Do tour directors or aides need to pay admission?
Tour directors, aides, and bus drivers are all given complimentary admission.
